So I have been bad with responding to emails.

So instead of responding to each one individually I thought I would just put them in a post each week. That way, maybe it would answer a question you might have as well.

Q:

I’m just starting up with working out (again) and was having trouble getting away from everything else in my life to get my workouts in. I imagine your schedule is extremely busy, with your job and your son – I was wondering how you manage to get in two workouts a day and still manage to sleep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A:

I think that, at least for me, I am not as busy as I let on. Yeah, I work close to 60 hours a week and I do have a little one at home, but I still have time for my health.
I have not seen an episode of American Idol, Biggest Loser, etc. I used to watch those shows all the time which would consume about 3-4 hours a day.
I am a huge sports fan, but realize that ESPN News can give me all of my highlights in 30 minutes.
I do not sleep in. I usually wake up between 5-7am. I still get enough sleep but I try to get a jump start to the day.
I go to the gym. This sounds silly, but if I work out at home, I tend to do other things like clean or cook or play with my son. Although those are important, I need to get my workouts in.
My wife is okay with me going to the gym twice. In exchange, I try to cook for her as much as possible and I parent while she works. That way I can take pictures of what I cook and post them on Facebook and blog, killing two birds with one stone.
While at the gym I read blogs from my Google Reader on my iPhone.I will update Twitter and Facebook at the gym as well. I have a new app that will let me post blogs from my phone, but not sure about that one.
I make sure to eat clean as well so that if I do miss a workout it is not the end of the world.
The way I look at it, I am asking for less than 10% of my day for working out. My wife is really good about it, and it has worked out.

Q:

Hello, I read your blog every day and I was wondering if you might have some advice for toning up.I started at 295 and I am down to 271.I want to tone as I lose the weight.Do you have any suggestions about your process in loosing the weight and toning up? You look great now.

A:

During my journey, nothing was better than working out! That being said, I did not worry about toning up until I lost my weight. I lost over 200 pounds so I knew the harsh reality of always having loose skin, which I am okay with.
What I will suggest is circuit training. To me, it is the most efficient way to work out. Every gym has a circuit and you can Google it as well for tons of tips.

Each week I will try to pick two or three or all to see and comment. Maybe you can add to it.

Regular post coming later………
