So I was in an article on CNN called “Judging A Book By It’s Cover”
It was based on how people judged that Susan Boyle from “Britain’s Got Talent” and how people are affected when they judge a book by its cover. You know, that woman who has never been kissed and has a beautiful voice. Kind of like me, except I have a horrible voice and I have been kissed.
I got interviewed for about 30 minutes last week, and I told the interviewer my whole story.
How I was over 400 pounds, how I lost weight for my wife, how I am gaining muscle and losing body fat, how I work in a restaurant and am around food all day, and how I wake up at 5am to work out every day!
Of course, she did not put in any of that, just a couple of sentences about how my life is different since I lost weight, and my story is one of nine “inspirational” ones. All are pretty cool. There is even one from one of my favorite bloggers Giyen, who gives a cool point of view on the topic, like she always does!
I do love the topic though. Are looks important? Well….I have no idea?
Here is what people have told me, you included:
The book was finished, but the cover was not printed yet
“Why can’t you lose weight, you are so unmotivated!”
“Get out of the office and do some work!”
“You can’t even put on a seat belt! How pathetic!”
“You know you will get diabetes soon, if you do not have it already!”
“Have you ever seen your shoes!”
“How does your wife put up with you!”
“No one can live off of fruits and vegetables for the rest of their lives!”
“You didn’t lose the weight on Weight Watchers!”
Then the cover got interesting!
“Keep it up, you are doing great!”
“It is going to be hard, but you might be able to pull it off!”
“Weight Watchers should have you as a success story!”
The cover is looking good, but far from done!
“You have put on a lot of muscle!”
“You did it, I know I can now!”
“When I bought cauliflower, I thought of you :)”
“I know you will keep the “fat” off!”
“You should be a life coach!”
“You make me feel like this is possible!”
“Weight Watchers should put you on the cover!”
” You and your wife are lucky to have each other!”
No! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Can you judge a book by it’s cover?
Well, for the first time, my cover matches my book.
It is a good one as well!
