I remember when I had my first “diet” drink. I was at the grocery store with my mom, and they had a diet Shasta in a glass bottle. it was strawberry, and I was shocked that a diet drink came in a fruit flavor. My mom bought it for me, and it was love at first gulp. The year was 1989. Since then, I made the commitment to only drink low calorie drinks. Diet Coke, Pepsi, Sprite Zero, Sierra Mist, and the 1200 flavors of Crystal light were all in my beverage arsenal. In fact, I have not had a regular drink in close to 20 years….
Now, here is the funny thing. I have these drinks, yet I was getting fatter and fatter. It is kind of embarrassing to be over 400 pounds and only drink diet drinks. But I think there is something to it…
I am not a doctor, or can I tell you all the health benefits or risks of Nutra-Sweet, but there is something wrong with drinking all of these drinks and still gaining weight? Every time i had a diet drink, I felt more hungry. I would have headaches, no matter if it had caffeine or not. I would feel tired all the time as well.
So I made the commitment to only drink water about 8 months ago. And guess what…it works. I am not as hungry, nor am I tired. I feel good, and I do not feel like I am going to pass out.
So here is tip #2- Drink Water. Go to the store, and splurge on your favorite bottled water. Do not change your eating habits at all. But I will tell you, if you switch from drinks with chemicals to plain water, you will see a difference within two weeks. I guarantee it!!
